1985 - nowhere in Newfoundland could a person buy safe, quality ice - not at a supermarket, not at a convenience store, nor at a service station. Dennis Murray saw a niche and together with Ned Goodyear, he started what has become a very successful business -ICE BLOCK LIMITED.
Dennis recalls how they purchased their first ice-making machine and, using a scoop, they filled each bag by hand. It did not take long to build up a client base.
Right from the beginning, ICE BLOCK LIMITED established itself as a safety conscious company by using stringent standards for food production.
Those high standards have earned ICE BLOCK LIMITED international recognition throughout the food production industry. In 2005 Dennis Murray helped write the CAII's(Canadian Association of Ice Industries) hazard policy for food safety in packaged ice.
ICE BLOCK LIMITED is pleased to be a member of the IPIA (International Packaged Ice Association); a member of CAII; HACCP Certified and to be PIQCS PLUS Accredited - one of the first Ice Plants in North America to receive such recognition for its adherence to strict food standards.
ICE BLOCK LIMITED delivers its ice products in modern refrigerated trucks which also meet Canadian food safety standards.
